handyDART

handyDART is an accessible, door-to-door transit service for people with permanent or temporary disabilities that prevents them from using fixed-route transit without  assistance. handyDART drivers will pick you up at an agreed upon location  and drop you off at the closest accessible point   near your destination, in many cases this is right at the door. HandyDART drivers will also help you get on and off the bus, as needed.

You’ll need to register for handyDART before booking a trip and registration is free.

If you submitted a Victoria Regional handyDART application since December 10, 2025, you may be impacted by the privacy breach outlined below. Please contact Transdev Canada directly using the contact information listed at the bottom of this update.

On January 6, BC Transit was notified by our operating partner Transdev Canada that they identified a privacy breach with the farwestvic.com domain used as a method to submit Victoria handyDART registrations. Please do not use the email with the farwestvic.com domain. The new email is Victoria.HandyDART@transdev.com. The breach involved personal information included in handyDART registration forms. We are working with Transdev Canada to resolve the issue. The privacy of our customers is our top priority and we reported the breach to the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for B.C.

Transdev Canada has been and continues to be working on identifying who was affected and communicating directly with those customers. They are proactively reaching out to customers to learn more about whether they are impacted. We have also updated all of our Victoria handyDART registration forms with new contact information to ensure further breach does not occur. If Transdev finds a customer is impacted, they will be offering credit monitoring services.

BC Transit is also actively working with and taking guidance from the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner and will continue to follow their recommendations. We encourage customers to monitor their personal information for suspicious activity. We know this can be unsettling news and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

If you submitted a Victoria Regional handyDART application since December 10, 2025, you may be impacted by the privacy breach. Please contact

handyDART is part of the Accessible Transit Services offered through your local system. Many riders use both handyDART and fixed-route buses depending on where they’re going and what works best for them.

Accessible Transit Options

There are two types of accessible transit services available:

  • handyDART – a shared, door-to-door service referenced above.
  • Fixed-route transit – low-floor buses with ramps or lift-equipped buses that run on regular routes and schedules.

All fixed-route buses have securements for wheelchairs and scooters. If you’d like to check if a stop has been  designated as accessible, contact your local transit office.

If you use a wheelchair, scooter, or have a CNIB pass, you may travel with an attendant.   Attendants ride for free and must board and exit at the same stop as you. They can also help with your mobility aid while the driver ensures everything is safely secured.
