Mediation between BC Transit and Unifor Local 333 has concluded without a tentative agreement. The Union has advised BC Transit that it will reinstate an overtime ban at the start of service on Monday, October 5. This will result in impacts to conventional transit service in the Victoria Regional Transit System, including trip cancellations and delays. Customers are encouraged to visit https://alerts.bctransit.com/victoria/ for the most up-to-date service information.

Victoria handyDART service is not affected.

BC Transit understands this job action may create concern for customers, employees and the communities that rely on transit service in the Victoria Regional Transit System. The organization is working hard to issue alerts for transit impacts as soon as possible to ensure customers have advance notice.

BC Transit is actively preparing business continuity plans to ensure it’s prepared in the event of further labour action. BC Transit continues to work toward a fair agreement that balances the needs of employees, customers, and the long-term sustainability of transit service.

As this is an active labour matter, we are unable to provide further comment at this time.
