Funding for the Conventional Transit System is cost shared between the City of Port Alberni and BC Transit. Funding for the handyDART system is cost shared between the Regional District of Alberni-Clayoquot and BC Transit.

Decisions about fares, routes and service levels for the conventional system are made by the City of Port Alberni, and decisions about fares, routes and service levels are for the handyDART system are made by the Regional District of Alberni-Clayoquot, based on information and planning provided by the Municipal Systems Program of BC Transit.

The conventional transit system is operated by Western Bus Lines Ltd. The handyDART system is operated by P.N.A. Transit Ltd.
