Interregional travel on Vancouver Island
You can now travel between Victoria and Campbell River using BC Transit services. This trip spans several regions, so it works a bit differently from riding within one community.
What to know before you go
Travelling between Victoria and Campbell River involves five regional transit systems. Each has its own routes, fares and customer service teams. Because of these differences, you can’t complete the full trip in one day, and some interregional routes don’t run on Sundays or statutory holidays. Plan ahead to make sure your connections line up.
Paying your fare
Most local bus passes aren’t valid on interregional routes. You can pay your fare using:
- Umo Cash Balance
- Exact cash (drivers can’t make change)
- BC Bus Pass
If you’re using Umo, make sure your Cash Balance is loaded before you travel.
