Web schedules and maps

Plan your journey with printable schedules and maps at bctransit.com

  1. Head to bctransit.com
  2. Choose your transit system
  3. Click Schedules and Maps on the homepage or in the main header navigation
  4. Enter your route or route number in the box and click FIND A ROUTE, or click SEE ALL ROUTES to view all routes
  5. Once you’ve selected or clicked through to your route, view weekly schedules by clicking the Weekday, Saturday or Sunday button (at the top of the schedule)
  6. View the return route by clicking the change direction button just under the map

No data/internet once you leave the house?

Option 1: Download Transit, our endorsed partner app for your mobile device/tablet – see Interactive trip planning on mobile device/tablet

Option 2: Screenshot your schedule or map, and send/save it to your mobile device

Option 3: Print your schedule or map

  1. Navigate to your route
  2. Click the Print button (see top right of your route schedule)
  3. In the print pop-up box, be sure to set Layout to “Landscape”

Option 4: Download or print the PDF version of the Rider’s Guide

  1. Head to bctransit.com
  2. Choose your transit system
  3. Click Rider Info on the homepage menu (see top of the page)
  4. On the right side of the page, click the Rider’s Guide image or link (directly below) which will open directly within the window
  5. Click the download or print icon (see top right of window)

Option 5: Email your local transit system*

  1. Head to bctransit.com
  2. Choose your transit system
  3. Click Contact on the homepage menu (see top of the page)
  4. From the drop-down menu at the top of the form, select Make a General Inquiry
  5. Fill in the form and make sure to request a transit representative contacts you in response to your inquiry – then click Submit Feedback

*Please note, it may be several days before you are contacted.


Web and email advisories/alerts

Get the latest info on service disruptions, schedule changes, detours and other important rider updates.

Option 1: Check advisories/alerts before your journey

  1. Head to alerts.bctransit.com
  2. On the Alert page, select the transit system you want to review
  3. Click your route number, or ALL to see every current advisory/alert

Option 2: Subscribe for email advisories/alerts

  1. Head to alerts.bctransit.com
  2. Click ‘Login’ from the top navigation links
  3. Click ‘Register Now’ from the page
  4. Fill out the registration form
  5. Click the ‘Register’ button
  6. A confirmation email will be sent to the email address you provided
  7. You must confirm registration by following the instructions provided in the email

Once you have an account, and are logged in, you can subscribe to receive notifications of BC Transit alerts and advisories.

  1. Login to your account
  2. Click ‘My Account’ from the top navigation links
  3. Click ‘Subscriptions’ from the left-hand navigation links
  4. Click the ‘Create Alert Subscription’ button
  5. Select the Transit System you are interested in
  6. Select the Route that you are interested in for the Transit System
  7. Click the ‘Create’ button
  8. Click ‘Delivery Settings’ from the left-hand navigation links
  9. Select your desired method of delivery (Email or Text Message). Please note that Text Message delivery is only enabled for certain Transit Systems
  10. Click the ‘Save’ button

Interactive trip planning on mobile device/tablet

BC Transit publishes real-time data feeds (General Transit Feed Specification) on our Open Data Page that are accessible to third-party developers. This enables them to create applications that support riders.

SMS Schedule Notifications (Victoria Only)

Using a mobile phone without data or apps, and riding with us in Victoria? Check schedule times via text message with our SMS Next Bus service.

See expected arrival times for the next 4 or 5 buses to arrive at your stop:

  1. Text your six-digit stop ID (e.g. 100032) to 11111,
  2. You will receive a reply that lists the next 4 buses scheduled to arrive at your stop, including their estimated arrival times.
  3. If you’re at stop on multiple routes and would only like to see times for a particular route, add the route number after the stop ID, e.g. 100150 27
  4. For help using the service, text HELP to 11111

Locating the six-digit stop ID

Riders can also find the six-digit number on Google Maps (desktop only) by searching the bus stop location.

Offline trip planning for riders without data/internet

Planning your journey or travelling without access to data or internet? Printed schedules are available in several formats.

Option 1: Rider’s Guide

Call your local transit system for a printed Rider’s Guide.

Option 2: Bus stops

Route schedules are displayed at transit exchanges and most bus stops throughout BC Transit communities.

Tip! If in doubt, ask your driver or fellow rider!

Option 3: Your local transit system

To find out about routes, schedule information or give feedback about your transit experience, connect with your local transit office by phone.

Automated Phone Schedules (Victoria Only)

Automated schedule information is available by phone for riders using our Victoria transit system:

  1. Dial 250-382-6161 (Transit Info Line)
  2. Input your Stop ID and route number at the prompt
  3. This service informs customers of the estimated arrival times for the next five buses at their stop.
