Livery is the term used to describe the design on the exterior of a bus or other vehicle and can include logos, colours or graphics.
The new livery consists of two colors, a vibrant green that entirely covers the front of the bus and a pure white covers the back. The two colours merge at the centre, separated by a diagonal swoop creating a sense of movement.
The new green livery will be applied to new buses starting in the fall of 2024.
This is our first notable change to exterior bus designs since 2007.
The green represents our commitment to a modern and environmentally friendly future for public transit across the province.
There will be no changes to BC Transit’s logo or other branding graphics.

The timeline to transition to the new livery
The roll out of the new green bus livery begins in the fall of 2024, as the current fleet is replaced with more sustainable vehicles.
Existing buses will not get the new livery treatment.
Electric buses will start arriving in early 2025 and will have the new livery.
There will be a mix of bus designs on the road until the project is complete.
A streamlined maintenance process
The previous livery relied on custom, more expensive colours and multiple pieces that were difficult to apply.
The new design uses one standard color and is one piece, making it easier to apply and repair anywhere in the province.
Buses will be back on the road faster and cost less to maintain.
BC Transit’s commitment to going green
The new green design is meant to raise awareness about pollution in our communities and encourage more people to take public transit to reduce the number of cars on the road..
Through the Low Carbon Fleet Program, BC Transit will continue replacing its buses with a more sustainable fleet, demonstrating its commitment to achieving the climate goals outlined in the Province’s CleanBC Roadmap.
