Know your fare before you ride
Everyone plays a role in keeping transit fair and reliable. Before you travel, please take a moment to review accepted payment methods, fares, and concession eligibility so you can be confident you’re using the right fare for your trip.
Pay the correct fare
Fare payments help support the transit services you depend on every day. When everyone pays the correct fare, it helps keep buses running as scheduled and supports future service improvements for the whole community.
Using the correct fare helps ensure the system remains reliable, accessible, and sustainable for all riders.
What counts as fare evasion
Fare evasion may include:
- Boarding without paying a fare or validating a pre-purchased fare product
- Using a fare product you’re not eligible for
- Sharing fare products with others
Fare checks
Transit Supervisors may conduct fare checks while you’re riding. They are uniformed and may visually inspect fares or use a handheld device to confirm proof of payment. If asked, please have your proof of payment ready and present it courteously.
If a rider is found without a valid fare or using an ineligible fare product, they will be provided with information about fare payment options and concession eligibility. In some cases, fare evasion may result in the removal of misused fare products without refund, suspension of fare accounts, or restrictions on travel privileges.
