Neighbourhood Open Houses – Saanich Transit Centre
BC Transit is preparing the site for a future Saanich Transit Centre [operations and maintenance facility] to support the growing needs of our region and the transition to electric buses. This future facility will play a key role in expanding and modernizing transit services across Greater Victoria.
Recently BC Transit held two neighbourhood open houses so local residents and business owners could attend to learn more about what’s planned for the BC Transit-owned five-acre property between Glanford Avenue and Commerce Circle.
At the open houses, the project team was pleased to connect with nearby neighbours to share information about the project and collect feedback. This was the first of many opportunities to connect with the project team and learn more as we plan for future development. Later this year the demolition plans for the five buildings will be determined and BC Transit will have more details to share once the contractor and schedule are confirmed.
