Effective April 1, 2026, all transit service in the Wiliams Lake Transit System will be provided by Passenger Contracted Transportation Services. This includes fixed route, handyDART and Paratransit services.

BC Transit customers in Squamish will soon enjoy the flexibility of a new OnDemand transit service, where riders can request a pickup and travel directly to local destinations such as the Chieftain Centre, Squamish Public Library, Sp’akw’us Feather Park and the Downtown Transit Exchange on Second Avenue where they can easily connect to every route in the transit network.
Major changes for Powell River transit

BC Transit is bringing tap-to-pay to Whistler and Pemberton
BC Transit is making it easier for people to ride fixed-route buses in the Whistler Transit System and the Pemberton Valley Transit System. Starting February 24, riders will have the option to pay their fare with a tap of a debit card, credit card or mobile wallet.

Downtown Comox transit exchange construction project resumes next week
Work will resume the week of February 23 at the future site of a new transit exchange in downtown Comox. Construction started in September 2025 and was paused in November due to possible archaeological material discovered and indications that further assessment was needed.
