On Monday, August 5, leave the car at home and ride the bus for free as BC Transit and the Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) will be celebrating BC Day with free transit, on all routes, effective August 5, 2024.
Upcoming Changes to Fare Product Sales
BC Transit launched Umo in the Comox Valley Regional Transit System in December 2023, introducing the Umo Mobility app, reloadable Umo cards, and improved fare products. Umo was implemented in the Comox Valley Regional Transit System at the beginning of a 30-transit system deployment schedule spanning the province. Last month, the organization celebrated the successful completion of Umo transit system deployments. With this significant milestone completed, BC Transit is ready to support riders in the next phase of the Electronic Fare Collection System Project. Effective October 1, 2024, BC Transit will cease the sale of legacy 10 Single Ride Ticket and Adult, Student/Senior and Post-Secondary Monthly Pass, and Semester fare products for fixed-route transit services.
