Fall service and more hours for handyDART in Comox Valley

BC Transit and the Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) are advising customers of changes to the transit system, effective September 2, 2024.

School trips will return on the following routes:

  • Route 1 Comox Mall/Anfield Centre via N.I.C.
  • Route 2 Cumberland/Anfield Centre
  • Route 3 Comox Local
  • Route 4 Driftwood Mall/Comox Mall via Comox Road
  • Route 5 Vanier
  • Route 99 VMP Connector

To reflect demand, additional hours are being added to Route 10 during the week and on Saturdays to allow for better connections with the Regional District of Nanaimo’s Route 99 to Qualicum Beach.

As part of this expansion, hours are also being added to local handyDART service. Weekday service has been extended, meaning handyDART service will now run from 8:30 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.

This service expansion in the Comox Valley Transit System has been made possible by an increase in local government and provincial funding. The operating grant provided in the 2024-25 provincial budget will allow BC Transit and its local government partners to continue to provide safe and reliable service and demonstrates that public transit remains a priority in our communities.

We encourage our customers to use the Umo app, Transit App, Google Transit or any other app of their choice for real-time bus tracking and planning your next transit journey.
