Final Reminder – Changes to Fare Product Sales
Effective October 1, 2024, BC Transit will cease the sale of legacy scratch-off DayPASS, 10 Ride Ticket, Adult Monthly Pass, Student/Senior Monthly Pass, and Post-Secondary Monthly Pass fare products in the Kelowna Regional Transit System for fixed-route transit service in favour of convenient Umo enabled alternatives.

Upcoming Changes to Fare Product Sales
BC Transit launched Umo in the Kelowna Regional Transit System in March 2024, introducing the Umo Mobility app, reloadable Umo cards, and improved fare products. Umo was implemented in the Kelowna Regional Transit System as part of a 30-transit system deployment schedule spanning the province. Last month, the organization celebrated the successful completion of Umo transit system deployments. With this significant milestone completed, BC Transit is ready to support riders in the next phase of the Electronic Fare Collection System Project. Effective October 1, 2024, BC Transit will cease the sale of legacy scratch-off DayPASS, 10 Ride Ticket, Adult Monthly Pass, Student/Senior Monthly Pass, and Post-Secondary Monthly Pass fare products for fixed-route transit service riders.

Starting on Sunday April 28, BC Transit customers in Kelowna’s Crawford neighborhood will have the convenience of an OnDemand transit service where pickup times and locations are determined by passengers through a smartphone app (or by phone) – offering customers more direct trips, quicker commutes, and shorter wait times.
