Reminder – Upcoming Changes to Fare Product Sales
Effective October 1, 2024, BC Transit will cease the sale of legacy 10 Ride Ticket, Adult Monthly Pass, and Student/Senior Monthly Pass fare products for fixed-route transit service in the Victoria Regional Transit System in favour of convenient Umo enabled alternatives.
Upcoming Changes to Fare Product Sales
BC Transit launched Umo in the Victoria Regional Transit System in August 2023, introducing the Umo Mobility app, reloadable Umo cards, and improved fare products. Umo’s arrival in the Victoria Regional Transit System kicked off a 30-transit system deployment schedule across the province. Last month, the organization celebrated the successful completion of Umo transit system deployments. With this significant milestone completed, BC Transit is ready to support riders in the next phase of the Electronic Fare Collection System Project. Effective October 1, 2024, BC Transit will cease the sale of legacy fare products, including 10 Ride Ticket, Adult Monthly Pass and Student/Senior Monthly Pass fare products for fixed-route transit service riders.
