Learn about Umo, BC Transit’s coming Digital Payment System
Transit System: Powell River, Squamish, Sunshine Coast
7 December 2023
BC Transit’s new electronic fare payment system, Umo (pronounced “you-mo”), is coming to the Powell River Regional, Sunshine Coast, and Squamish transit systems. In a few weeks, Umo will be launched regionally introducing contactless payment methods and new fare products that improve the transit experience by allowing riders to pick the best option for their lifestyle and travel habits. Once launched, riders will have the choice of using the Umo Mobility app or a reloadable Umo card as their payment method.
Prior to Umo’s arrival, BC Transit invites riders to learn more about Umo by visiting bctransit.com/umo or attending an in-person engagement event in their community. Please stop by a Umo engagement table and speak to a BC Transit representative about Umo’s coming payment methods and new fare products.
