BC Transit believes in equity, diversity and inclusion and wants our customers in the Victoria Regional Transit System to ‘ride with pride’ when they get on our specially designed Pride Bus now through the end of July.
Pride is an important opportunity to recognize the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and support equity for all community members who are gender, sexuality and/or relationship diverse. That’s why BC Transit designed and created our first ever Pride Bus, which will be in service and running on a variety of routes in the Victoria Regional Transit System through June and July.
The bus was designed by BC Transit’s Graphic Design team following careful consideration and consultation with our internal Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility (IDEA) forum. The IDEA forum is a diverse and cross-functional group of employees that comes together regularly to discuss matters related to IDEA at BC Transit. We’d like to thank our partners at Lamar Advertising for providing their services to wrap the Pride Bus with its vibrant colours at no charge.
BC Transit is honoured to support the Victoria Pride Society as they once again carry out the Victoria Pride Festival from June 29 to July 9. There are many signature events and traditions taking place, and the full schedule is available here.
The Pride Bus will be taking part in the annual Pride Parade on July 9, which starts at Douglas and Fisgard and runs through downtown Victoria.
