BC Transit named one of BC’s Top Employers for 2023

For the third year in a row, BC Transit has been recognized for its exceptional workplace as one of BC’s Top Employers for 2023. BC Transit has more than 1,000 employees with a wide range of careers that include drivers, maintenance and administration.

BC’s Top Employers is an annual competition organized by the editors of Canada’s Top 100 Employers. This special designation recognizes the employers in British Columbia that lead their industries in offering exceptional places to work. Winners are selected based on several factors:

  • Health, financial and family benefits

  • Training and skills development

  • Community involvement

  • BC Transit has more than 1,000 employees, with a wide range of careers that include driving, maintenance and administration. There are also more than 1,700 indirect operating employees across B.C.

  • Pre-pandemic, the Crown Corporation typically provided service to roughly 57 million annual riders in over 130 cities, districts and towns across the province service, in partnership with local governments.

  • BC Transit has a fleet of more than 1,100 buses including double decker buses and nearly 250 Compressed Natural Gas buses. With the Low Carbon Fleet Program, the organization has a goal of providing customers with a 100% carbon emission-free fleet by 2040.
