You Asked For It! Bus Service on Statutory Holidays

PRINCE GEORGE – Buses in Prince George will begin running on statutory holidays as of September 4.

The City of Prince George and BC Transit will be providing Sunday-level service on Labour Day, Thanksgiving, Remembrance Day, Boxing Day and Family Day in 2016-17.

Extensive public consultation on the 2014 Prince George Transit Future Plan, as well as a recent report by the City’s Student Needs Committee, found service on statutory holidays is a priority for members of the public. As a result, service will be provided on those five statutory holidays in 2016-17, and Prince George City Council has passed a resolution to expand statutory holiday service further in the 2017-18 fiscal year.

There will continue to be no service on Christmas Day 2016 or New Year’s Day 2017.
