VICTORIA – The Wilkinson Road Bridge Replacement project will cause a change in the routing for the 30 Beacon Hill / Royal Oak.
The 30 will detour via Mann and West Saanich Road to and from Royal Oak in both directions and there will be no bus service on Wilkinson between Mann and West Saanich Road. The stops along that portion will be closed and the 30 will stop at the existing stops for other routes (see map below).
This routing will be in effect until early 2017.
This lengthy detour, along with expected traffic congestion, will likely affect other routes, as well, as some connections may be missed. While it’s impossible to give an estimated delay time, we recommend that transit users who need to transfer to other buses plan to catch an earlier trip.
BC Transit staff will monitor the impact on traffic, as well as customer feedback, over the first couple of weeks.
