By Minister’s Letter, the Province of BC has announced a new Chair for the Victoria Regional Transit Commission (VRTC) to replace Sooke Mayor Maja Tait, who has chosen to step down from her role as Commission Chair.
Central Saanich Mayor Ryan Windsor has been appointed as the new VRTC Chair, with Mayor Tait remaining with the Commission as a member. BC Transit would like to thank Mayor Tait for her time as Chair.
BC Transit is a Crown Corporation governed by a Board of Directors, which is appointed by the Province according to criteria specified in the British Columbia Transit Act. The Victoria Regional Transit System is governed by the VRTC, which sets routes, service levels, fares and local taxes for transit purposes.
