KAMLOOPS – Let BC Transit take the wheel on Canada Day. BC Transit and the City of Kamloops encourage everyone to enjoy a safe holiday by riding public transit for free on Wednesday, July 1, 2015.
Riverside Park is putting on a patriotic party starting at 7:00 a.m. with a pancake breakfast and concluding at 10:30 p.m. when the fireworks show brings the Canada Day festivities to an end. BC Transit will operate a ‘Saturday’ schedule on July 1 and provide service from the Lansdowne Exchange after the fireworks, that includes:

The Canada Day event coincides with the arrival of annual summer service changes coming into effect in the Kamloops Transit System. From June 28 to September 5, 2015 routes 1 Tranquille, 2 Parkcrest, 3 Westsyde, 7 Aberdeen and 9 Gleneagles will be reduced to 30 minute frequency during peak hours. In order to best match ridership demand, transit hours are conserved in the summer months when most schools are on break. Regular service hours and peak frequency will return when the school year starts in September.
