Transit System: Dawson Creek
DAWSON CREEK – The City of Dawson Creek and BC Transit are responding
to requests from residents for expanded transit service coverage.
On a trial basis, from March 1, 2013 to June 30, 2013 the Route #1 Northside
will travel farther north to service the growing residential subdivisions along
17th Street.
If there are no operational issues with the new route, timing or schedules,
a second, longer seasonal trial on the #1 Northside will take
place between September 2, 2013 and June 30, 2014.
The data collected from the two trial periods will be presented to Dawson Creek
City Council. BC Transit riders and drivers will also be asked for their feedback
on the trials.
Should the route modifications be deemed successful, the Route #1 Northside
would be changed permanently on a seasonal basis from September to June annually.
During the months of July and August, the Route #1 Northside enjoys
robust ridership to Rotary Lake.
