Transit System: Cowichan Valley
COWICHAN VALLEY – The Cowichan Valley Regional District (CVRD)
and BC Transit are looking for volunteers to form a community stakeholder group
to participate in a transit study.
The study aims to review the existing paratransit network in rural and low-density
areas in the South Cowichan Valley and the Cowichan Lake area, to identify potential
opportunities to improve the quality of service, and to consider cost-reducing
options such as flexible routes or on-demand services.
The first round of two community stakeholder group meetings is scheduled for
July 16th, 2013. There are two available times and locations for workshop participants,
the Cowichan Lake Sports Arena from 1 pm to 3:30 pm or the Kerry Park Recreation
Centre in the Dennis Mclean room from 5:30 pm to 8 pm.
Interested participants are asked to pre-register at cvrdparatransit@bctransit.com
or contact Rob Williams with the CVRD at 250·746·2530.
