BC Transit and the Victoria Regional Transit Commission are launching the new Route 72A Swartz Bay/YYJ/Downtown to provide additional service to Victoria International Airport (YYJ) during early morning and late-night travel times. This expanded service will start on September 8 and regular transit fares will apply.
These new trips will travel along the existing Route 72 between downtown Victoria and Swartz Bay, with an added stop at Victoria International Airport. The Route 87 and Route 88 will continue to operate as scheduled, providing airport service and timed connections at McTavish Exchange for trips throughout the rest of the day.
Route 72A will include the following trips:

Customers travelling with luggage are asked to keep suitcases, bags, sports equipment and other belongings on their laps or on the floor where they do not block the aisle for other customers. On double-decker buses, customers with luggage must stay on the lower deck.
Improvement to BC Transit service between Downtown and the Airport remains a priority for the Victoria Regional Transit Commission and is highlighted in the draft Victoria Regional Transit Plan. Additional future improvements will depend on available expansion funding and approval from the Victoria Regional Transit Commission.
