Transit Service and Fare Change in January

CENTRAL FRASER VALLEY – BC Transit customers in the Central Fraser Valley Transit system will notice changes and improvements to the current schedule effective January 6, 2013.

Abbotsford customers will enjoy earlier service on routes #1, #2, #3 and #31 to meet the 6:25 am West Coast Express trip. Passengers on route #21 Aldergrove will benefit from Sunday service and extra service hours Monday through Saturday. Plus route #12 UFV-Bourquin Connector will provide more direct service to the University of the Fraser Valley.

In Mission, the route #39 Shopper Shuttle will now include service to Walmart and the Mission Seniors’ Centre. The route #40 East Mission Night will see its final trip Monday through Friday at 8:30 pm.

Along with the service improvements, new transit fares go into effect January 1, 2013.

Fare change highlights:

>Cash fares: $2.25 adults including post-secondary students (former fare $1.75)
$1.75 seniors/students (former fare $1.50)
>Prepaid tickets: $20.25 adults including post-secondary students (former fare $15.75)
$15.75 seniors/students (former fare $13.50)
>Monthly passes: $52 adults (former fare $45)

Please note, customers holding old transit tickets will have a three-month grace period to use them at face value. After April 1, 2013; old tickets can still be used with a “top-up” to the current fare price.
