Temporary service reduction in Smithers

Due to a forthcoming employee absence, BC Transit and our operating partner will be temporarily reducing service in the Smithers Regional Transit System. This service reduction will be in effect from March 18 through April 18.

The route 22 Smithers/Telkwa will run four trips every weekday leaving Smithers and three leaving Telkwa, while the route 23 Smithers/Witset will operate with two trips leaving Smithers and two leaving Witset.

There have been minor time adjustments on some trips, and customers are encouraged to get the most up-to-date route and schedule information for this temporary service change here.

Weekday On-Request service hours will also be temporarily reduced, and will operate 10:00-11am and 2:00-3:15pm, Monday through Friday.

Saturday conventional and On-Request service, as well as the Highway 16 connections via routes 162 Kispiox/Smithers and 163 Smithers/Burns Lake, will not be impacted by this short-term service change.

The organization appreciates the patience of customers during this time, and apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause.
