Temporary service reduction in Prince Rupert

BC Transit and its local government partners work hard to match service with demand and provide reliable transportation services for customers.

Due to recent labour challenges, BC Transit is implementing a short-term reduced service schedule to provide more stability for customers in the Prince Rupert Transit System.

This adjusted service schedule will see a temporary suspension of late-night Friday service effective Friday, June 7, and reduction in Saturday service, effective Saturday, June 8.

Last trips on Friday evening:

  • Route 51, 52 and 53 at 6:15 p.m.
  • Route 54 at 6:02 p.m.
  • Route 57 at 5:33 p.m.

Saturday service will be reduced from four buses running through the day, down to three buses. The first two morning bus departures for route 53 Crestview and route 51 Seal Cove will leave downtown at 8:25 a.m. The third bus, route 52 Summit will leave downtown at 11:42 a.m.

The last evening buses leaving downtown on the weekend:

  • 51 Seal Cove at 6:15 p.m.
  • Combo route 52 Summit/55 Fairview Bay/54 Westview at 6:15 p.m.
  • 53 Crestview at 6:15 p.m.

The organization is working with our operating company, PW Transit Canada, to rectify this issue and will resume full scheduled service as soon as possible.

BC Transit appreciates the patience of customers during this time and apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause.
