Transit System: Salt Spring Island
SALT SPRING ISLAND – Visitors to Salt Spring Island – as well as local residents – will be able to enjoy one of the more popular summer-time destinations and not have to rely on a private auto to get there. BC Transit is resuming bus service to scenic Ruckle Park, as part of the seasonal service changes.
The 9 Ruckle Park began as a pilot in 2015, connecting Fulford Harbour with Beaver Point and Ruckle Park. Beginning June 29, this route will run twice a day, seven days a week. Customers can connect between the 9 and the 2 Fulford Harbour to travel into Ganges and connect to other routes.
There will be two more trips per day on the 2 during the summer, to serve the expected increase in visitors and schedules will be adjusted to align with BC Ferries arrivals and departures.
Fall service will resume September 25.
