Summer service change for the Victoria Regional Transit System

BC Transit is announcing a seasonal service change in the Victoria Regional Transit System effective June 27, 2022.

Due to construction work on Gorge Road between Tillicum and Admirals there will be changes to several routes.

  • Route 11 Tillicum Centre/UVic will no longer serve the Gorge-Admirals-Cowper-Obed loop.

  • Routes 24 Cedar Hill/Admirals Walk and 25 Maplewood/Admirals Walk will be extended from Admirals Walk to Tillicum Centre to support the route 11 change.

These changes are supported through the Burnside-Tillicum and Esquimalt-View Royal Transit Plans.

In anticipation of tourist needs, service improvements are being made to routes 70 Swartz Bay/Downtown and 75 Saanichton/Royal Oak/Downtown.

Routes 54 Metchosin and 55 Happy Valley will operate along the Chidlow Connector. Other summer-only changes being made include:

  • Route 17 Cedar Hill will be discontinued

  • Increased capacity on Route 81 Brentwood/Saanichton/Sidney/Swartz Bay

  • School trips will be removed from several routes
