BC Transit, the City of Powell River and the qathet Regional District are advising customers of a service change, effective June 29, 2026.
With the end of the school year, the 8:25 a.m. trip on Route 1 from Town Centre to Townsite will be seasonally discontinued.
Trips serving Westview School will shift to travel along Joyce Avenue until school resumes.
The 8:02 a.m. trip on Route 2 will remain on Marine Avenue in the southbound direction until school resumes.
This service change also includes broadening of the OnDemand zone to include the Cranberry Lake and Mowat Ave areas. Riders can book trips when they need it using the BC Transit – OnDemand app or by phone. For more information about this convenient service visit OnDemand – Powell River Transit
We encourage our customers to use the Umo app, Google Transit or any other app of their choice for real-time bus tracking and planning your next transit journey.

Fare engagement

The survey will be open starting today until July 20, 2026.
Feedback and input will be collected with online and paper surveys as well as through an in-person session.
The online survey can be completed by clicking here. Paper surveys will be available at Powell River City Hall.
Feedback can be shared with staff in-person on July 8, 2026, at the Town Centre Mall from 8:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
