VICTORIA – On Friday June 15, 2012 help BC Transit Stuff the Bus.
The hybrid double decker will be parked at Save on Foods (3510 Blanshard St)
from 7 am to 7 pm.
It will take 2200 pounds of non-perishable food donations to Stuff the Bus.
Your donations couldn’t come at a better time! The cupboards at the Mustard
Seed are most bare in the summer months. It is likely no coincidence that schools
and their food programs are closed at this time. Of the 7000 clients who rely
on the Mustard Seed every month, 1600 of them are children.
Bring your donations between 7 am and 9 am and Save On Foods will reward you
with a coffee and a muffin. If you drop off your donation between 9 am and 2
pm you can listen to 100.3 The Q! broadcast live, spin the Prize Wheel and enter
a draw for Brian Adams concert tickets. You’ll feel “eighteen until you
die,” almost immediately. Brian Adams performs in Victoria on June 15,
2012.
A BBQ lunch will be served between Noon and 2pm with celebrity chefs: BC Transit
President & CEO Manuel Achadinha, Victoria Regional Transit Commission Director
& Saanich Mayor Frank Leonard and Victoria-Swan Lake MLA Rob Fleming.
Cash donations are also greatly appreciated. The Mustard Seed is able to get
$2 of food for every $1 you give, thanks to the generosity of participating
retailers and suppliers.
