VICTORIA – BC Transit is pleased to announce the return of the annual Stuff the Bus event in Greater Victoria.
The event, which was previously cancelled, will give locals a chance to help those in need in the Greater Victoria region by packing a bus full of goodies.
BC Transit recognizes the change in direction from the Provincial Health Office, which allows events for donations to proceed with safety measures. BC Transit is pleased to be able to help support our local communities across the province, especially given the impact of COVID-19 on the communities we serve in 2020.
Following BC Transit’s COVID-19 safety protocols, additional safety measures are being taken for the Stuff the Bus event. We advise everyone who is making a donation to wear a mask, in order to keep everyone as safe as possible.
The safety plan measures for the event include:
- Donators and visitors not boarding the bus
- Donations being dropped off with on-site volunteers
- Volunteers being equipped with PPE and sanitizers to ensure safety for all parties
- Surfaces being cleaned regularly
- Practicing physical distancing by remaining six-feet apart
Join BC Transit in making the holiday season a little bit brighter for others. Donations can be in the form of non-perishable foods, new and unwrapped toys and clothing, as well as cash. Cash donations should be deposited by donators in the collection boxes, available on-site during the event.
Come by and drop off your donations at the Save-on-Foods (Tillicum Centre) on:
Saturday, December 19
Save-on-Foods, Tillicum Centre
9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
All donations will go to The Mustard Seed Food Bank and The Salvation Army’s Stan Hagen Centre for Families.
Please be advised of BC Transit safety protocols including wearing a face covering and practicing physical distancing. We will update you if conditions change due to public health orders.
