VICTORIA – BC Transit has been served 72 hour strike notice by
CAW 333. The union represents approximately 650 BC Transit staff; including
operators and mechanics.
BC Transit and the union remain at an impasse over wage increases and benefits.
BC Transit is disappointed that an agreement could not be reached at the bargaining
table. BC Transit’s offer was fair and reasonable; and in line with other
recent settlements in the public sector under the Province’s Cooperative
Gains mandate.
Look for updates on our website www.bctransit.com
as we remain committed to the highest quality of customer service under these
very challenging circumstances.
BC Transit remains hopeful a negotiated settlement can be reached.
