Spring service change in Victoria

BC Transit and the Victoria Regional Transit Commission (VRTC) are advising customers of a service change, effective April 14, 2025.

With an increase in demand from commuters and tourists, there are improvements being made to weekday service on Route 75 from Keating Cross Road to Downtown and on weekend service to Butchart Gardens.

To help meet ferry service, improvements are being made to Route 70 and to Sunday service for Route 72. There will also be minor adjustments made to weekday trip times for Route 72.

In response to feedback from the public, service levels on the following routes will be changing:

• Route 24 Cedar Hill/Tillicum Centre
• Route 46 Dockyard/Westhills
• Route 51 Langford/UVic

New bus stops are being added along the Bear Mountain Parkway for Route 49 Skirt Mountain/Langford Exchange.
To help improve service reliability, minor schedule changes are being made to several routes. Please check the latest Rider’s Guide for full details.

With UVic classes wrapping up for the spring session, Route 76 Swartz Bay/UVic will be discontinued until classes resume in the fall. As well, service levels on other routes that service post-secondary schools will be adjusted to reflect demand.

Temporary detours remain in place for Route 32 Cordova Bay/Royal Oak Exchange, Route 70 Swartz Bay/Downtown and Route 71 Swartz Bay/Downtown, headed northbound near Uptown. These buses travel on Saanich Road instead of Ravine Way due to construction. These detours are expected to remain in effect until June 2025.
