Quotes

“This is an excellent opportunity for youth in the Cowichan Valley – both those who regularly use transit and those who want to try it out. Initiatives such as the School’s Out Transit Special give people more freedom to get out and about while reducing the number of cars on the road, and that eases traffic congestion and makes our neighbourhoods more accessible and inclusive.”

Claire Trevena, Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure

“There are many great places in the Cowichan Valley that can be accessed by transit, and we hope this free transit promotion gives students more reason to explore our region during their study break”

Aaron Stone, Chair of the Cowichan Valley Regional District

“Spring break is an exciting time for students during the school year. It is an opportunity for them to get outside and explore their neighborhood, hangout with friends, and be outdoors after the cold winter season. The free transit offered in CVRD during spring break will encourage kids to make transit their best option to get to and from their destinations.”

Erinn Pinkerton, President and Chief Executive Officer, BC Transit
