BC Transit and the District of Kitimat are announcing some changes to the transit service, starting Monday, October 16, 2023.
Scheduling changes are being made to reflect a labour shortage for the Kitimat Transit System.
A new reduced weekday schedule will see buses running until 7:00 p.m. from Monday to Friday.
On Sundays, transit will only run from 10:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
There will be full service on Saturdays between 7:30 a.m. and 10:00 p.m.
BC Transit and its operating company in the Kitimat Transit System, PW Transit, are working hard to hire more drivers and are looking for people with strong customer service skills, who enjoy interacting with the public and supporting their community.
