Transit System: Central Fraser Valley
BC Transit and the City of Abbotsford are advising customers of a service expansion, effective January 4, 2026.
As part of this service expansion, changes are being made to the following routes:
- Route 1 Highstreet/UFV – additional trips on Sunday evenings and more frequent service until 8 p.m. on weekdays.
- Route 2 Highstreet/McMillan – additional trips on Sunday evenings and more frequent service until 8 p.m. on weekdays.
- Route 21 Aldergrove/Abbotsford – one additional trip in the morning and in the evening on Sundays.
- Route 31 Abbotsford/Mission – one early morning trip on Sunday has been added at 7:55 a.m.
This service expansion will also see additional service for Route 66 FVX on all days of the week. On weekdays, additional morning and afternoon trips will be added. This expansion also includes an additional early morning trip on Saturdays, along with more trips through the morning and afternoon. Trips will also be added on Sunday in the early morning and evening. These changes are being made to help address an increase in demand for service.
On January 4, 2026, construction will begin on the Highstreet Exchange, causing minor routing changes in the area. As a result, a temporary exchange will be set up on Cardinal Avenue, just south of Highstreet Access Road. Signs will be posted directing passengers on where to board the bus. This construction will have impacts on routes 1, 2 and Route 66 Fraser Valley Express (FVX).
This service expansion in the Central Fraser Valley Transit System has been made possible by an increase in local government and provincial funding. The operating grant provided in the 2025-26 provincial budget will allow BC Transit and its local government partners to continue to provide safe and reliable service and demonstrates that public transit remains a priority in our communities.
