WHISTLER – BC Transit is announcing the annual Spring-Summer-Fall service change in the Whistler Transit System starting Friday, March 27, 2020.
BC Transit and the Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW) work hard to match transit service with ridership demands related to the resort community’s seasonality. This March 27 service change was originally scheduled to take place on April 1 as part of our normal transit operations schedule.
With Whistler Blackcomb operations suspended until at least the end of April, the Whistler Transit System will be moving directly to Spring/Summer/Fall base service on March 27. There will be no Late Winter Extra Service. Spring/Summer/Fall base service will operate until December 3, 2020.
The RMOW is also offering temporary complimentary service starting March 20 until further notice. This will enable rear-door loading to help with physical distancing.
BC Transit is following the lead of health officials when it comes to our response to COVID-19. We have implemented enhanced cleaning measures for our fleet of buses across the province. This enhanced cleaning includes:
- Daily cleaning
- Enhanced disinfecting cleaning for high-touch areas including stanchions, hand straps, stop buttons, doors, and seat tops
