Transit System: Port Alberni
PORT ALBERNI – Effective June 30, 2013, BC Transit customers in
Port Alberni will see several changes to the system. Those changes come as a
direct result of face-to-face consultation and online survey responses by residents
in Port Alberni.
The improvements include schedule changes that will reduce transfer wait times
at the main exchange.
Changes on the #1 Southside will see reverse routing in order to better
directly serve the downtown core. Customers will also note the #1 Southside
will include service to Harbour Quay and the Native Friendship Centre via Burde
Street.
The route #4 Crosstown will travel to the West Coast General Hospital
and the Ship Creek/Cameron loops on evenings and Sundays.
In order to deliver the best possible service to BC Transit customers, the
route #2 Pacific Rim has been amended and will no longer travel to underutilized
areas such as the Maebelle and Brandon loop.
