Transit System: Campbell River
BC Transit and the City of Campbell River are announcing service challenges in the Campbell River Transit System due to a labour shortage in the region.
Due to a shortage of drivers, we are experiencing challenges that include a number of last-minute trip cancellations. Once a trip is cancelled, alerts are issued on BC Transit’s website. Customers can sign up for these email alerts by visiting bctransit.com/campbell-river.
Riders are also being encouraged to use NextRide, the Transit app or Google Transit to get up to the minute updates.
While BC Transit works closely with the City of Campbell River to identify service level, fares and routing, service delivery is provided by PWTransit. The City of Campbell River does not control the services provided by PWTransit.
PWTransit is working hard to hire more drivers and are looking for people with strong customer service skills who enjoy interacting with the public and supporting their community. If someone is interested in a career with PWTransit, they can get more information here.
BC Transit and our partners understands the impact these disruptions have on riders and apologizes for the inconvenience this may cause. We appreciate our customers’ patience at this time.
