Victoria – Rock the Shores music festival is back this year, and BC Transit is pleased to partner with the festival organizers to help ensure safe, reliable transportation to and from festival grounds.
The festival will take place from Friday, July 13, through Sunday, July 15, at the Westshore Parks and Recreation lower fields. Gates will open at noon each day, with concerts ending at around 11:00 p.m. (Friday and Saturday) and 10:00 p.m. (Sunday).
BC Transit will run on its regular schedule for each day of the festival, with additional buses available during the day to handle overload crowds of festival-goers. There will also be extra buses in the evenings, to help transport people home after the concert.
To avoid pedestrian congestion, the Colwood Transit Exchange will be closed before the end of the last concert each night. BC Transit staff will be on hand at the Exchange, helping to coordinate dispatch of additional buses as needed, and to direct passengers to bus stops on the Old Island Highway, where they will be able to board.
Regular fares will apply on all three festival days.
Customers intending to ride the bus more than once a day are reminded to purchase the convenient $5 DayPASS upon boarding, which will allow them to travel all day, on any route in the Victoria Regional Transit System. For more information, visit bctransit.com/victoria/fares/daypass.
