Privacy Collection Notice:
Starting in October 2025, BC Transit will be conducting live field testing of open loop payment systems (debit, credit, mobile wallets) on select buses and validators in systems across the province.
During this testing, limited transaction data may be collected, including anonymized payment tokens, timestamps and validator location.
- No personal information will be retained beyond what is necessary for validation and reconciliation.
- There is a small chance riders could be charged a single fare if they tap their Umo card or app with a credit card next to it. Inadvertent charges will be identified and automatically refunded.
