WHISTLER – This Saturday, September 10, transit users will be able to hop on the bus within Whistler for free all day, courtesy of the Resort Municipality of Whistler.
In addition, there will be an extra shuttle bus between Whistler Village and Whistler Creek from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Catch the bus at Gondola Transit Exchange and on Chamonix Crescent (formerly Squaw Valley Crescent) at Lake Placid Road, opposite the Husky Gas Station.
The Resort Municipality of Whistler and BC Transit are also advising of several bus stop closures in the morning and afternoon, south of the Village to help ensure the safety of bike riders participating in the 2022 RBC GranFondo.
Between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., all bus stops along Village Gate Boulevard and Northlands Boulevard will be closed, with all routes departing from Gondola Transit Exchange. There will be temporary bus stops set up on Chamonix Crescent (formerly Squaw Valley Crescent) at Lake Placid Road at (northbound) opposite the Husky Gas Station.
From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., all bus stops in Cheakamus Crossing will be closed. Please walk to Function Junction across from the Home Hardware to catch a bus to the Village.
All bus stops in Spring Creek, Whistler Creek, and Nordic will remain closed between 9:15 a.m. and 4 p.m., as well as the Highway 99 stops at Hillcrest, Brio and Panorama Ridge.
From 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. all northbound highway bus stops will be closed. After 1 p.m. passengers will need to cross the event bike lane to board the buses. Please watch for cyclists.
