VICTORIA – BC Transit is pleased to offer its riders a preview of its new-look, mobile-friendly website, designed to give its 1.6 million customers in 130 communities across British Columbia easier and more convenient access to online transit information.
For a trial period, when customers visit www.bctransit.com, they can choose to either view the current website which they are familiar with, or, select a preview of the new website in development by selecting the link on the home page or going direct to http://preview.bctransit.com.
The preview period allows riders to ‘test-drive’ the new site and provide direct feedback to BC Transit’s website development team.
New enhancements in development to improve customer service include:
Ability to view the site easily on mobile devices (responsive design)
Better access to schedule data
Improved graphic design and navigation features
Easy to view customer alerts
Ability to subscribe to alerts for specific bus routes (via email)
Convenient trip planning for most of our larger transit systems
Please note that some features and functionality may not be fully-available during this development period. Visitors may experience temporary disruptions in service while the site is being worked on.

When the new website’s development site’s testing is complete, and customer feedback has been considered, the current website will then be retired. The target for this future switchover is by late November.
