Transit System: Port Alberni
PORT ALBERNI – handyDART customers in the Alberni-Clayoquot Regional District will soon be able to utilize additional services, thanks to 1,300 in service expansion hours.
BC Transit and the Alberni-Clayoquot Regional District are pleased to announce expansion hours to handyDART services in the Port Alberni Regional Transit System effective September 3, 2019.
handyDART is an accessible, door-to-door shared transit service for people with permanent or temporary disabilities that prevent them from using fixed-route transit without assistance from another person. BC Transit works hard to match the needs of custom transit services across the province.
The handyDART expansion will include four hours of additional service per weekday. This expansion will provide customers with more access and reliability when using the handyDART service. As part of this expansion, service will be extended from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. for the last trip on weekdays.

“We are excited to see more hours being implemented on the handyDART service, as we know there are current pressures on the system with respect to rider trip requests.
