Transit System: South Okanagan-Similkameen
SOUTH OKANAGAN-SIMILKAMEEN – The Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen along with the City of Penticton, Town of Osoyoos, Town of Princeton, Town of Oliver, Town of Keremeos, District of Summerland and BC Transit are bringing the Transit Future Bus back for a second round of community consultations from July 22 to July 26, 2014.
The Transit Future Team will be travelling with the bus and will seek feedback on the proposed transit network that was developed following phase one consultations. The team will also be available to answer questions.
The Transit Future Bus first toured the Okanagan and Similkameen Valleys last fall, seeking public opinion in order to develop the region’s 25-year Transit Future Plan. During the first phase more than 1100 people shared their vision for the future of transit.
The Transit Future Bus is a 40-foot decommissioned bus that has been transformed in to an interactive public consultation tool. Look for the bus at popular destinations including the Summerland Farmer’s Market, Osoyoos Evening Market and the Penticton Market. A total of eight stops in seven communities are scheduled.
