Transit System: Chilliwack
CHILLIWACK – A number of transit vehicles parked at the Chilliwack Transit yard were damaged in a fire Sunday morning that occurred at the recycling site adjacent to the transit facility.
BC Transit is in the process of assessing the damage but an early estimate indicates ten transit vehicles sustained damage.
BC Transit is making every effort to ensure transit service continues with minimal impact to customers. A plan is in place for replacement vehicles to be relocated to the area.
BC Transit customers in Chilliwack are not expected to see service interruptions at this time. However, if service changes are required, they will be posted online.
