Transit System: Central Fraser Valley, Kamloops, Kimberley, Kitimat, Nanaimo, Port Alberni, Prince George, Prince Rupert, Revelstoke, South Okanagan-Similkameen, Squamish, Sunshine Coast, West Kootenay, Whistler
BC Transit and its government partners will be offering special service for New Year’s Eve in regions across the province, on December 31, 2023.
Central Fraser Valley – There will be extended Sunday service for New Year’s Eve on some routes. To view the extended service, please click here.
Kamloops – Buses in Kamloops will be running on a Saturday schedule on December 31, 2023. There will also be extended evening service with free transit starting at 6 p.m. To view the extended service schedule, please click here.
Kimberley – The free Peak to Platzl shuttle will be operating on a Saturday schedule on December 31, 2023. This will allow for extra trips between the ski hill and Kimberley’s downtown.
Kitimat – There will be special extended service provided on New Year’s Eve until 5 a.m. Service between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. is free and sponsored by LNG Canada and the District of Kitimat.
Regional District of Nanaimo – There will be special extended service on December 31, 2023. Transit will be free between 6 p.m. 2:30 a.m. To view schedules please click here.
Penticton – On December 31, 2023, buses will be running on a regular Sunday schedule, with an extended evening service. Transit will be free after 7 p.m., with a New Year’s Eve shuttle running until 1:59 a.m. View the schedule and map here.
Port Alberni – Special extended service is being offered on Route 4 Crosstown on December 31, 2023. To view the schedule, click here.
Transit will be free from 7:30 p.m. until 1:25 a.m.
Prince George – Special extended service is being offered on December 31, 2023. To view the extended service schedule, please click here.
Transit will be free in Prince George after 7 p.m.
Prince Rupert – There is no Sunday service normally but there will be special free service for New Year’s Eve from 5 p.m. until 1:30 a.m. To view this schedule, click here.
Revelstoke – Route 5 Resort Shuttle will provide late night service on New Year’s Eve. To view the schedule, click here.
Service on the shuttle will be free from 6 p.m. until 2 a.m.
Sunshine Coast – Buses will be running on a Sunday service on December 31, 2023. Transit will be free starting at 7 p.m.
Squamish – To help celebrate New Year’s Eve, there will be extended Sunday service. To view the schedule, please click here.
Transit will be free after 8 p.m.
West Kootenays – There will be no regular service on December 31, 2023, but Route 48 Red Mountain Ski bus will still be running.
Whistler – Transit will be free all day in Whistler on December 31, 2023. The regular winter schedule will run with additional buses on the road from 5 p.m. until the end of service.
