Kelowna Regional Transit System expected to resume service Update Nov 22 - 7:30 PM

Kelowna – BC Transit and its local government partners are pleased to announce that full transit service is expected to resume shortly after a tentative agreement was reached this evening between BC Transit’s service contractor First Canada and the Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) Local 1722.

The ATU is expected to present the terms of the tentative agreement to its membership on November 23, 2016. First Canada will resume all transit services as quickly as possible, once the agreement has been ratified by their employees.

BC Transit is pleased that First Canada and their unionized employees were able to find a mutually agreeable resolution to restore transit service to the community. We would like to thank our valued customers for their patience during the service disruption that has occurred as part of the collective bargaining process.BC Transit is advising customers who use public transit to continue making alternative arrangements for their transportation until the agreement has been ratified and full service levels are restored.
