Increased service coming to Vernon and Route 90

BC Transit and local government partners in the Vernon Regional Transit System, including the City of Vernon, the Regional District of North Okanagan, and the District of Coldstream are announcing a service expansion for the region, effective September 1, 2024.

This includes the introduction of consistent, Sunday-level statutory holiday service on all local routes within Vernon and Coldstream.

On Route 90 UBCO/Vernon, there will be an increase in weekend service to reflect higher demand, and Sunday-level service will be offered on Statutory Holidays with the exception of Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. Full service will continue to be provided on September 30, the Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

This service expansion in the Vernon Regional Transit System has been made possible by an increase in local government and provincial funding. The operating grant provided in the 2024-25 provincial budget will allow BC Transit and its local government partners to continue to provide safe and reliable service and demonstrates that public transit remains a priority in our communities.
