Improved transit service and fare changes coming to Squamish this fall

SQUAMISH – Starting this September, bus riders in Squamish will enjoy enhancements to transit service in the community, and a simplified fare structure that includes all children 12 and under boarding for free.

As of September 5, the Squamish Transit System will be adding several new trips to its schedule, including an improvement of Sunday and holiday bus service on most routes. On weekdays, buses between Garibaldi Village and downtown Squamish will now run with greater frequency.

These improvements are possible through the addition of 3,000 new service hours to the system, funded by the District of Squamish and the Province of B.C. The service expansion is aligned with the Sea to Sky Transit Future Plan.

To complement the service changes, starting September 1 transit fares will change to a single, one-way cash fare of $2 for all riders (including students and seniors). Transit users may also choose to purchase 10 tickets for $18, a DayPASS for $4, or a monthly pass for $39 (adults) or $20 (seniors and youth).
